Join ASC, Australia's submarine company, in the role of Naval Architect to support the build of cutting-edge submarines.
Provide engineering support and leadership for the build of the SSN AUKUS submarines during design and build activities.
Develop and review engineering documentation such as docking calculations, stability calculations, structural calculations, work instructions, defect assessments, repair procedures, test procedures and engineering reports.
Task organisation & analysis involving a number of steps; and processes which include sequencing, integrating, extrapolating, inferencing, and abstracting.
Prepare technical reports and other engineering documents with minimum supervision.
Produce safety and technical risk assessments in accordance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System.
Bachelor of Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar (Degree must satisfy membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia at MIEAust level).
Demonstrated success conducting Naval Architecture analysis within a heavy engineering, shipbuilding or defence industry.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of submarine/ship design, trim and stability, shock and vibration, dockings, hydrostatics and general structural engineering.
Understanding of Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSWMS) and its application to Engineering Delegations and Risk Levels.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
Must be an Australian Citizen.
Be paid to work, train, and live in Barrow, UK for the next 2 years.
