Job Description

Join Open Minds Tweed Heads as a Peer Support Worker, where you'll use your lived experience of mental health challenges and/or flood recovery to inspire hope, foster resilience, and connect people with the supports they need.

Responsibilities

Build trusting relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
Support individuals to access essential services
Co-facilitate peer-led and psychosocial group programs
Link service users with the community through warm referrals
Contribute to team culture through meetings, admin, and representing Open Minds

Qualifications

Completed Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
Experience in peer support with the ability to engage diverse individuals
Knowledge of local services and referral pathways
Strong communication, relationship-building, and administrative skills
Flexible, proactive mindset with advocacy and initiative abilities
