Job Description

Serioplast Australia is seeking a Shift Leader for its plant in Ingleburn, NSW to supervise and coordinate production staff to ensure continuous production and maintain product quality and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support Machine and Packing Operators, managing priorities, eliminating bottlenecks, and training staff on correct task execution.
Participate in technical operations, such as color changes, mold changes, equipment cleaning, and assist in line setup; perform minor repairs and routine maintenance.
Make immediate decisions on urgent production line issues, prioritizing staff safety, product quality, and production continuity.
Authorize production start-up at machine initiation and after changeovers or major maintenance, in collaboration with Quality Controllers.
Ensure proper execution of the quality control plan in production and perform random product inspections (e.g., visual checks, weight verifications).
Investigate causes of defects and implement corrective actions, including specific quality controls and processing defective bottles in the warehouse.
Oversee completion of shift paperwork for accurate and timely traceability of production batches.
Ensure staff and workplace compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Participate in team activities aimed at reducing waste and improving productivity and quality.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
