Job Description

Youturn is seeking a passionate Cultural Advisor to help shape how we support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The role involves leading cultural capability initiatives, driving projects, strengthening service accessibility, promoting workforce inclusion, advising on culturally appropriate practices, and facilitating community engagement.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver education, training, and awareness programs for staff
Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-focused projects
Review and improve pathways and resources
Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities
Contribute to strategies for attracting and retaining Indigenous employees
Ensure programs and services reflect cultural safety and respect
Monitor progress and share insights on cultural initiatives
Facilitate community engagement and feedback loops

Qualifications

Solid knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
Understanding of relevant policies and strategies
Experience in providing education or training sessions
Valid Queensland 'C' class driver's license
