Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) have partnered with a council in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne to recruit a HR Business Partner for a 7-week temporary contract.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective relationships with relevant directors and department managers within the Customer and Transformation directorate.
  • Translate business requirements into effective people solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide professional HR advice on workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and performance management.
  • Guide workforce planning and change management with the Organisational Development team.
  • Contribute to organisation-wide and targeted business solutions.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases and provide expert support.
  • Implement Return-to-Work plans ensuring compliance and employee well-being.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Management, or Behavioural Science.
  • Proven HR experience in a business partnering role.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace legislation and HR advice in complex organisations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
